Hello,
I'm new to Rivendell and I'm having some difficulty trying to get voice
tracking to work. Apologies in advance for the length of this email.
In short, I don't see generated logs in RdLogEdit - the service that I
created doesn't show up in RdLogEdit either, so that's probably why the
Hello,
That was it. Going into RDAdmin and granting the "User" permission to the new
service did the trick. Thank you.

Hi Peter,
I just installed CentOS7 this past weekend and, aside from the weirdness of how
CentOS handles networking
(it's not activated by default), it was smooth. The URL with instructions that
you included below discusses
the networking activation step and those instructions are what I
Hello,
I just received a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX PCIe 5.1 (Model

because the on-board sound card wasn't recognized by CentOS7.
The card was pretty much plug and play and is running now. I saw

Is there anything relevant from the 'dmesg' command about disk when that

Hello,
I'm sure those with more experience than I can provide an answer too,
but my first thought would be to create an event with pre-imported carts
1 through 9 and then add that to a clock that you then schedule from
6a-9a on Mondays. Same for Tuesday, etc.

Hello,
You might try this next time to see what is taking up memory:
top -o %MEM
Also, is there swap available on the machine?

Hi Mark,
That seems odd. What's the output from the "date" command? Open a
terminal window and type:

Also, is it possible that the firmware/bios time is different?

I would think it must have run out of both physical and swap memory then
before killing processes.
I had a Rivendell studio computer stop responding entirely last week.
Turns out someone bumped the power strip. I corrected that but it drove
me to set up Nagios monitoring across the entire
One other thought. Apache runs as user www-data and group www-data on Debian.
Make sure that user and group have write access to the directory (chown
www-data.www-data)

Hello,
If the segfault through terminal can be reliably reproduced, you might run
strace. The strace utility will show you lots of details about files being
opened, system calls, and so on.
This tutorial seems ok at introductory strace, which might be enough to get
your further. Once you

Hello,
I may be having a problem of not seeing the forest from the trees, so I'm
hoping the collective experience of the list helps.
Our station has sponsors for various specialty shows who have an ad rotation
something like:

Another Co: 1x per show

Hello,
My first thought was to make sure there's enough disk space left. There
probably is, but that's the first thing I thought of.
The command df -h will show disk usage in human-readable format.
Next, I'd try to touch a file in /var/snd as the rd user:
touch /var/snd/testfile
That will
Hi all,
First, thanks for the responses on the voice track replacement with liner when
missing. I didn't want to clutter the list with "thank you!" responses to
each.
Next up, what are people using for triggers, as in, interfacing so that
the cart or content is started from the board for
Hello,
I'm attempting to create reports of traffic played versus traffic logged

I have a unique situation whereby we have numerous student volunteers

To alleviate some of the load on the PD, I'd like to figure out a way to

JSON offers no more security than XML and XML can be used on any of the
platforms that you mention. Sounds like possibly you need to learn a bit more
about the current system.

Hi Chris,
Yes, we had this scheduled to generate the log four days ahead of time,
in order to stay well-ahead in case someone needed to be gone for a few
days. Our cron job ran at 21:18 local time which was (hopefully) a
quiet time for other production activity.
Here's the cron entry. Never

What's the status of obtaining paid support for Rivendell? Does Paravel

Hello,
I don't typically use MySQL Workbench but same difference to using the MySQL
CLI which I've used with the riv database. I wouldn't think there's a reason
why it couldn't access the database specifically. Possibly try accessing the
