I would have to be against this practice. My site, get.theinfo.org, is
written using TCL scripts but has static content. The query data (the stuff
after the ?) is being used to find which entry in the database to retrieve.
This information is the key to the site and should be harvested by search
engines.

Because of this widespread practice, I have been forced to redesign my
interface to no longer use the ? character. Amazon.com has done the same
thing. However, I believe that this should not be done -- instead rely on
the Robots Exclusion Protocol and Metatag, that's what they're for.
