The ninth edition of the One World Berlin Human Rights Film Festival takes place from November 22 to November 28 at the Arsenal cinema and recently re-opened Czech Center Berlin. 11 film programs, encompassing documentaries, fiction and experimental film, explore current topics such as the Israel-Palestine conflict from a personal, intimate point of view, the cover up surrounding the investigation of the right extremist terror organization NSU, impoverished farmers and GMO seeds in India, current protest movements in Germany, unusual strategies for coping with homelessness in Prague and the right to education, as exercised by a forty year old woman learning to read and write. The festival opens with the Berlin premiere of Yolande Zauberman's and Selim Nassib's WOULD YOU HAVE SEX WITH AN ARAB? If you want to engage with a variety of topics in one single film program, check out the screening of guest curators MY EUROPE, a touring film festival organized by Citizens of Europe which presents outstanding short films that deal with current European issues. The films discuss economic crisis, migration and integration, the debate about nuclear power and self-determined sexual identity in a variety of forms, from intense mini-drama featuring German actor Hannes Jaenicke via short docs to campy music videos.

All screenings at Kino Arsenal and Czech Center Berlin.
