samjam: this is all great stuff. I wasn't familiar with socat; it looks like just the thing to make the php framework usable without the clumsy session proxy.

I've mentioned that the php blog mode can server up messages based on the message-id header - which is nice, as this is based on the old URL for messages imported from Wordpress. However I also want to respect the old Supercedes header as well, so when threading messages, I will look for a match
