Here is an updated Easy Install script which I modified for the sake of compiling the git branches against an installation done with easy install.
If you run it as normal, you will not even know anything is different with it. If you save it to the local computer and run it as such:
#./install with-source
then you will be prompted for the location of your local git folder (where you keep your branches) and then asked which branch you want to use.
Please feel free to do with this as you want, but it has been very helpful for me :)
