Thanks, I thought they might be (an editable) synth/patch/bank
reference system, because sofar either/and/or I have no other way
to set the patch/bank numbers using plugins or rosegarden cannot
find them or use them (other topic).

Those instrument numbers you're seeing, like 2000, are an internal thing
has has no conceivable relevance to end users. Whatever it is you think
you're going to do with it just isn't going to work.

Have you actually tried to find this information somewhere on the net ?

My humble suggestion is this:
Use your favourite internet serach engine and enter "general midi" and
start reading. Once you've done that (and you'll find EXTENSIVE reading)
come back with your questions not yet answered.

Just my 0.02 €,

[Rosegarden-user] Setting the track patch/bank musical instrument for synth or synth-plugin

2012-10-20 Thread k-12

I just unpacked an .rg file and notice that the "instruments" are defined in
the very beginning with numbers. Where can I find an index or formula relating
the General-Midi Patch/Bank tree to the numbers rosegarden uses here?

For example I noticed that an instrument I set up as a "Violoncello" (somehow
unable to find just 'cello') has the # 2000. What I want in this case is the
cello defined as patch/bank 43/0. Some other numbers used: 2561 2307 2560 2304
2305 2306 2184 2436 1440 2189.
