Yes, that was it. Vaguely remembered something like that but couldn't find the button, never having used it in all my years with RG. The troublesome stylized S appears in the track window but not in the main one so I was just looking in the wrong place. The situation is exactly the same, suddenly only the selected track plays. I remember it used to happend when I fiddled with a track's channel number. I've since upgraded to the develpment version and haven't seen the problem again. If you have already put some work on your piece but you can't recover it, the only way I found to dodge this is to export to MIDI and then import in a new session. [Rosegarden-user] Useless Mode?
After spending a fair amount of time punching in a piece today, I suddenly found it would only play one track at a time. Whichever one I select in the main window. This strange and unhelpful situation only affects the tune in question and seems incurable. I'm wondering if I might have accidentally clicked on some 'useless mode' button that renders the thing monophonic, but if so, I can't seem to find it again to unclick it.
