Can you double check the output for a couple of command? Here's mine: zcat /proc/config.gz | grep -i HZ | grep 1000 CONFIG_HZ_1000=y CONFIG_HZ=1000 cat /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq 1024 If /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq is less than 1000, you may want to try: sudo echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq ; cat /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq My kernel has CONFIG_HZ_1000=y CONFIG_HZ=1000 compiled in, but by default, it shows /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq value of 64 . I have to set it within /etc/rc.local so it is set again everytime the system starts up.
