While discussing updates and version-in-package-names issues (related to
a programming language that shall not be named) we came up with the
following (completely not thought through) idea:
Offer a special character for separating the version number within the
package name from the "real" nam
The original idea was to release 4.11.2 final with a couple of very
minor tweaks on top of rc1 this Monday, but that obviously didn't
happen... and yesterday I discovered a bug ugly enough that it deserves
to be fixed *now* and not in some future maintenance update that gets
released who know
