I was able to replicate this error.
I use rsync to mirror Project Gutenberg from ibiblio.org. That is about
245GB of data in about 358'000 files. Since about one week i got

ok here is my config as per the email i sent you
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ sudo cat /etc/rsyncd.conf
ignore nonreadable = yes
log file = /var/log/rsyncd.log
