Cygwin Rsync 2.5.6 over SSH hangs on Win2k-Win2k

2003-06-26 Thread Tillman, James
When using Cygwin Rsync 2.5.6/OpenSSH 3.6.1 for copying files from Win2k-Win2k, I get 2 or 3 hung processes on the receiving-side out of about every 50 runs. These hung processes cause the system to be unable to reboot(?!), requiring a hard reset. Killing the processes allows a graceful reboot

Every 5 seconds seems a bit excessive in terms of CPU utilization and network bandwidth. Are you trying to ensure close-to-real-time synchronization by doing this? If you have the ability to run processes on the source machine, perhaps running a process that monitors the source directory for

My sincerest apologies for the duplicate msgs from me that were sent to the list this morning. My email administrator must have done something quite stupid to have all msgs I've sent in the last week go out again! jpt -Original Message- From: Tillman, James Sent: Wednesday, July 09
