[rt-users] Upgrading RT installed from distro packages
Hello, I've installed RT in a Ubuntu server version 10.04 using Debian packages (apt-get). So the version of RT I'm running (that was packaged) is 3.8.7. I want to upgrade RT to the latest and greatest 4.0.x. Will using instructions under README and docs/Upgrading-3.8 get RT upgraded for me? Or should I install RT from source on a fresh server then export/import database and configuration data from my old 3.8.7 to the new 4.0.x installation? Thanks in advance for the advise. Re: [rt-users] Setting up HTTPS on RT 3.8
Thanks everyone for the quick responses :) John, I have an idea about how to deploy SSL on a website. And as a matter of fact I'm using Ubuntu as an OS. However I've posted the question here because I've seen other threads talking about RT redirecting to http (rather than HTTPS) when a ticket is created, modified, etc. So I wanted to know if there is any special configuration for RT. 2011/7/14 john s. firesk...@gmx.de @Brahim: I think you take good on it to get sth Background Knowledge of it . Re: [rt-users] Request Tracker web UI logs out after Respond, Resolve and Take actions
Kevin, I solved the issue. The problem was the fact that I set the URL in the config file to: '192.168.1.2/rt/' The final '/' was the problem, causing RT to request 192.168.1.2/rt//subdirectories (notice the // ) when I perform actions. Anyways, issue solved. Thanks for the response ( sorry for the delay) 2011/4/26, Kevin Falcone falc...@bestpractical.com: On Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 11:04:35PM +0100, Brahim Sakka wrote: The RT web interface logs out whenever I hit the update ticket button when responding; commenting, resolving , etc. Is this normal behavior? And if not how can I fix it? Sounds like you have some of your urls set up wrong (those actions redirect). Are you accessing RT through one host name and being sent to a different host after responding or resolving -kevin
