i've also talked to jesse on saturday and explained our ideas and the actual progress. So i think the idea is great to push RT into this direction.
@Todd: We are started using AT as CMDB but there are some missing points at this moment (read my entry on your wishlist)

Tim,
You do know about Asset Tracker right? People at my work who are drunk
on the ITIL kool-aid really like AT. We even renamed the "Assets" menu
to "Asset CMDB".
