Alabama Renegades To Hold Women's Football Tryouts September 24, 2004 - The Alabama Renegades Women's Football Team will be hosting open tryouts for the 2005 season on October 2nd, at 10:00 AM at the Richard Showers Center. The Renegades will be starting its fifth season in the National Women's Football Association. The NWFA is the largest full-contact women's football league in the world with more than 40 teams nationwide.
All women interested in playing full-contact football are invited to attend. You must be at least 18, and have your own health insurance. Please wear comfortable clothes, gym shoes or cleats if you have them. You do not need to know the rules of football or how to play the game. Just a desire to learn. There is a one time registration fee of $35.00. Anyone interested in playing or in learning more about our team should attend.
The Richard Showers Center is located at 4600 Blue Springs Road in Huntsville. The football field is located behind the building. Anyone interested in playing, coaching, or volunteering for the team should attend the tryout or contact the team owner Nancy Byrd at (256) 830-4537
Follow-up tryouts will be held next month and will probably be held at the Richard Showers Center.
