NewsChannel 19's Claire Nelson reports:

More people are arrested in a sting operation to cut down on the sale of illegal CD's and DVD's. A lot of people don't know this is even a serious crime, but Huntsville Police say it's a felony.

The three men that were caught with hundreds of pirated DVD's and CD's are facing felony charges. If convicted for trying to sell these pirated items, they will face a mandatory three years in prison for each felony charge and lots of fines. The men arrested are 56-year-old Harold William Allison, who works for a local radio station, 42-year-old Bobby Lee Hurt and 35-year-old Sanjaykumar Patel.

This is not the first time recently that Huntsville Police have caught people trying to sell illegal music and movies. In June, they arrested former Crimson Tide basketball player Bobby Lee Hurt. Huntsville police say they hope these arrests continue, so people will realize record pirating is against the law.

"We're trying to send a serious message," Wendell Johnson, with the Huntsville Police Department said. "It is illegal to have these and to sell these and to manufacture them."

That's why Huntsville Police say if you have any pirated CD's or DVD's to get rid of them, or you could face these charges too.
