Johnson Named Defensive Coordinator On Croom's MSU Staff Dec 15, 2003 STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State University head football coach Sylvester Croom announced Monday the hiring of Ellis Johnson as defensive coordinator on his coaching staff, pending approval by the Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning.
