I think Florida locked up a Peach Bowl invitation with the win over FSU. As I see it, Bama either goes to the Music City Bowl, or Independence Bowl. My bet would be the MCB. That does make sense, Ron. Thanks, Rick [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: No, actually. It appears to be all or nothing for Auburn. If Tennessee beats them UT gets the SEC's automatic BCS bid. That still leaves two at-large bids. One may assume that Utah locked up one of those this weekend. They should finish sixth or higher in the BCS. So. . . that leaves one more at-large bid. If AU loses to the Volunqueers then they'll surely be dropped below California and Texas. Cal appears to be a lock for the Rose. If so, there goes your two at-large bids. I'll have to agree with Slef on Bama's bowl. It looks like Music City. I think Zook took the Peach away by upsetting the criminoles in Tallahassee. Re: Re: [RollTideFan] When will a final decision be made
Rick, With one week to go, I believe the Peach was looking at Bama, Florida, and USC. At the time, all three had identical 6-4 records. If all three had lost on Rivalry Weekend, the Peach Bowl committee would've had a tough decision to make. As it turns out, the three contenders went 1-2 on Rivalry Weekend so I'd have to say the decision to pick Florida was a no-brainer. I might be badly mistake, but I wouldn't buy a Peach Bowl ticket unless I wanted to see Florida / Virginia Tech game. Don't forget about Arkansas. If they can knock off LSU, they'll finish with a 6-5 record at which point the Houston Bowl comes into play. Then we'd be looking at the Music City, Independence, and Houston Bowl choosing from Bama, Arkansas and USC. In that scenario, I think Bama winds up in the Independence. Yep I see what you and Ron are saying. I was just looking at the scenario of what would happen if UT beat AU. Ron's probably right about AU being left out of the BCS slots because of the Utes and Cal. Wouldn't that just break all our hearts? :) Although, like I said last night, it's hard as hell for me to pull for UT over the Aubs, based on what has happened over the past few years. That would move everyone up one spot in the bowl pecking order wouldn't it?
