Thanks.  Maxima-5.12.0 will be in SAGE-2.5  (I just packaged it
up for SAGE last night.).  Also, you should probably be able to
do a
     sage -i maxima-5.12.0
and test it out right now.

It has numerous new features and bug fixes...
