I found a work-around since I posted the question: forcing ymin/max to
0-1
made the numbers show up, somehow.
Now I can't make the NO numbers plot happen again, but I got a single-
-number plot happening, at least, which to me, is just as

I have found out a method of adding jpg or png graphics by:
1) First deposit a jpg or png file to a website server, example here
is www.irnova.com.my/Sage/Proving%20Ring.PNG

a) press [edit] button to go into html edit mode

Hi:
There is a fairly polished book on differential calculus and Sage
now available at amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1448662192/ref=pe_5050_12929060_snp_dp
(Hope that url works for others - if not just search amazon for the title.)
All royalties go directly to the Sage Foundation.
Maybe change ImageName.png with the name of the image you uploaded...
By the way be careful with filenames with spaces in between: I have
had annoying troubles in dealing with spaces rather than %20s (which
is the way spaces are represented in URLs).
Hope that helps.

I am running sage in one of our department servers, so that my
students can use them. If my students lose their password, how can I
recover it for them? Thanks.

I use ubuntu Jaunty in an eee-pc 1000, and had a hard time making the
notebook look right. I was aware that doing
sudo apt-get install jsmath
would solve the problem, but it didn't, since the equations were not
properly display. I also had the package jsmath-fonts installed, but
it did not
