Hello

On several recent flavors of Linux, I am unable to get Sage's server to
talk to clients on other machines. For instance,

sage:
> notebook(accounts=True,port=8080,interface='atlas.st.usm.edu',secure=True)
>

starts a server successfully, and I can bring up the notebook interface
using a web browser on atlas.st.usm.edu itself.

However, any OTHER machine returns an error:

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at atlas.st.usm.edu:8080.

This has been plaguing me since the summer. I currently cannot get it to
work on a Fedora 16 or an Ubuntu 12.04. The odd thing about the latter is
that it worked fine a few days ago (we had an MAA conference here, and I
verified that it was operating before giving the address to a workshop
organizer) but it stopped working when the administrator upgraded the
software packages. The same thing happened over the summer, which prompted
me to upgrade one desktop to Fedora 16, which didn't help at all.

While the machines are running firewalls, the ports we are trying are not
blocked.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
