0.5 to 1K for each frame, 12 frames per second = minute long silent movies

i've heared that the keyboard membrane often breaks,
on the old 48 k speccies it broke just above the connector
on the PCB, i cured that by cutting off the membrane about 2 cm or
so above the break and putting it back in the connector (this worked on
about 8 spectrums)

Oops... forgot to say that in the schematics for the external disk drive
interface
as well as the citizen drive circuitry, the Drive Select A/B
pins on the floppy connector and left unconnected (pins 12 14)
Do these need to be connected to something to enable the PC drive ?

So the question is, if I pop out and get a PC PSU and use it as a direct
replacement for the Sam PSU will it work without any additional
modification?
There shouldn't be a problem, as long as you don't need to use the modulator in
the old PSU and you use the SCART output of your Sam, which I
circuitry, and it all fits inside the Sam like the original disk drives.

i'm missing a few pieces of my Sam: the plastic cover of the power
supply, the white cover for the floppy and the eject plastic button
of the floppy. I have also problems with the drive: the belt is broken.

Problem is all my disks have got corrupted with age so all I can get is

Do i need a particular floppy drive or i can simply use a standard pc one?
I remember you being in contact back in January about Sam drives
The actual disk drive mechanism used in the original Sam floppy drives
A PC disk drive can be used with the same circuitry - using
the WD1772 disk drive controller IC - that is on the small
board which is soldered directly onto the back of the
original disk drive units.
Don't you need to buy a drive which supplies the RD (Ready) signal?

What is the small bare pcb interface with the eproms and the black
cable shown in one of the pictures?
A Messenger interface. Some were sent out uncased by SamCo.
