A *real* SAM version? That'd be nice :)
Well, -at the risk of incurring the wrath of david braben - would
anyone happen to have the source for Elite?
At one point I asked David Braben to do a conversion. He said no.

Community user group, drop me a mail, and I'll send you the info. I had a
great response from the articles in those three mags, very surprising
indeed! I don't think there is a single person from this list though! :)

Yeah.
when using mode 4. How about a 3D vision version ( with a green(or blue)
and
red 3D glasses) ?
In mode 4 at about 12 frames/sec? ;)

I messed with Red/Green 3D for while. With red and green it works best on a
white-background so that would not be very usefull for Elite, maybe Blue
and Red 3D works better, never tried that one.
I messed with it quite a lot in the early days. The trouble is that

Last time you mentioned this I understood - wrongly it seems - that you
had merely asked him for permission to do a conversion and he had said
no. This puts

Uhm...explain? David Braben said no to me doign an conversion
to the SAM. Am I still unclear? :)
er... now i'm confused. did you or did you not ask Dave Braben to do the
conversion?
If you asked him for permission

Possibly. But you might be able to do some clever stuff, but it will
still be too slow. 6MHz is not enough for 24K of screen
actually you might say 4.5 MHz. But with with at least 256K to waste
some fast memory wasting routines would increase speed.

First of all: Good news...
I succesfully booted up my Sam last night.. let's see how well it can
carry on. :)
Sounds like you have a dodgy connector. Try removing the drive and
use some cleaner specially for electric components to clean the
connectors.

Yes, indeedy, I'd be interested in it. I love business/management games, and
there isn't really a decent stocks and shares one on the SAM (never mind the
Speccy). I used to have one on the Acorn Electron that was great fun, but
that was many years ago *sniff*. And hard luck having to do

Have a nice day, I am still here
Please Robert,
Do not take this to the listagain.
Generally: This list is not a public toilet.

In theory, I'd expect it could be done... at the end of the day it's
really down
to understanding how the Zip actually works. But that's the problem.

Edwin'll be better placed technically for this ;)
