The best advice is to walk through DIAGNOSIS.txt.
To find it,
locate DIAGNOSIS.txt

I used the NT 'cmd' shell, and the version of samba is 2.2.7a. I set

Hi all,
I'm on the way to use CIFS (0.8.7a) on linux clients.
No problems so far except that new files are created
with timestamp '1970-01-01' ...

Hi, i am not sure if i under stand you in the right way,
but samba compiled with vfs having the the right options in the conf and a
antivirus solution checks

a simple example:
a share with an single MS-DOS .bat file on it;
this .bat file is (for example) a bash script file

I'm using a rather strange config, borne out of neccessity rather than
choice at home. My internet 'router' is a Win2000 Pro box running
