I've set

But samba still uses nobody as guest account. samba 2.2.8a worked fine.

A few months ago, I installed linux 2.6 and samba 3.
I use fstab to mount shares from a windows XP station. I have done this
successfully for years using 2.4 and samba2.
Mounting the remote shares work fine, for a while.
It's very possible. I've put the suggested changes in place and recompiled on a test
box, but my user is out of the office today and can't test it so I'll have to wait for
hte weekend to pass. Thenks for the info.

joined the domain, started winbind and run the wbinfo -p; wbinfo -t
tests, both succeeded. But if I do a winbind -g I only get
