Important seem to be:
dos filetimes = yes
dos filetime resolution = yes (maybe no longer needed)
fake directory create times = yes
admin users = (users must be able to change attributes of files
they don't own!)
"admin users" means root rights for everybody on t
Also if your printers are in a different VLAN check your firewall rules
and or router ACLs to make sure the CUPs/Samba server can talk about to
the clients correctly. When you do a packet capture you will see what I
am talking about.

Sorry about this last post. I later discovered that disabling netbios
over TCP/IP resulted in a complete inability to connect to our SMB
network. The printer dialog box did open up faster, but the print job
that I though I had sent just sat in the queue on the XP box and never
went anywhere.

WEll got the printing all up and working (bsd)
but we have 1 printer that is a little differend
i need to setup a network printer, and if someone wants to print to it
it should ask for a password (and/or username).
the idea is that a studend who wants to print, gives a print job, and
