if there is no output your winbind is not running.

SuSE, RedHat, FreeBSD, Other?
If SuSE, you have to do a chkconfig -a winbind, rcwinbind start

the strange thing is that the clients whitout SP2 can access the share
contents putting only \\a in the explorer (i always believe i has to be

My profiles are not loding (i use xpsp2 clients). I can acces the full
profile only on the machine where I created them (acts as a local
profile). And still profiles are shown on the client machines as roaming.

I submitted a bug report on this a month or so back but it is still marked
as new. Maybe
vampiring users works %100, there are absolutely no errors in the error log,
and the vampire log show the users being added to the multiple groups
successfully. The users all have sambaLMPassword & sambaNTPassword set
properly and *all* old settings are brought across.
