Tom, If you can't get through your servers using your SSH client you can always use Telnet (although it's very unsecured). That's an option if you are looking for a portable solution... although SSH would be ideal if you had it.

I just discovered something; if I use the shutdown gui in Windows XP, the remote shutdown works. I'm not sure what's different between doing a remote shutdown with the gui and from a command line, but as I need it to work from a command line, does this help anyone come up with an idea? I'm out
