I'v got working Samba ADS servers, but "net ads info" shows most of them
are associated with Win2K3 domain controllers that are in different
sites than the ones the Samba servers are in (we have a large WAN with
DCs in every site). I'm not configuring "password server" as I want

Err, because I had not heard of (or remembered of) strace. I'll check
it out. I've also discovered, there is one computer (maybe others, too)
that whenever it connects the processor maxes out. I tried it a couple
time... rebooting the file server, connect from that computer, and see

Since you are connecting to AD, I would use "security = ADS". It is my
understanding that Kerberos is required for AD. If you're using linux,
