We are using samba 3.0.24 compiled for xscale on two devices:
We are running a smbclient and smb daemon on two different devices,
192.168.1.39 (smbd) and 192.168.1.24 (smbclient). When we establish a
smbclient connection from client - Server, in the
smbd/server.c:open_sockets_smbd()
I have a number of XP clients which are configured to use roaming
profiles stored on a samba server (samba v. 3.0.24, Debian etch).
One client works perfectly, in that the roaming profile is always
downloaded at login and uploaded immediately at logout. This is true for

I've a problem with logon script parameter: client doesn't run this
script and i've no error in samba logs. I'm using samba 3.0.24 (etch)
with windows XP SP2 client side.

Firstly I would like to say about the problem.
Whenever new file is created by samba clients in samba directory
shares, they should be moved to another directory.
The solution is very straight forward. My VFS module keeps list of
fds when a file is opened with write/read-write flag in

I had the same issue.
It turned out to be a problem with the permissions in the base directory for
samba (/samba had 700 permissions, changing to 755 fixed immediately).
The problem with the permissions occured due to zfs import - so cool, so
close but not quite there ...

I am in the process of configuring Samba 3.0.14a onto 4 AIX 5.3 systems.
It seems to be working OK on 3 of the 4, but on the last one, I cannot
start smbd.
nmbd seems to start fine.
The smb.conf file matches the other servers except that the server name
is changed.

I've compiled samba-3.0.25rc3, using Sun Studio11, and linking in
openldap-2.3.21 and krb5-1.4.3 client libraries. The same problem
that I've reported since 3.0.23d still exists. If anyone has a
suggestion, or if I missed something in release notes or anything,
