When transfering files between the two PCs, I get abount 6.5 to 7
I had a similair problem a couple of years ago.
I tried to get the users credentials to automaticly map the
homedirectories off the windows machine. I never got it working.
In theory it should since the users got a kerberos ticket while they
logged on to linux. But I could not spend to much time

I upgraded the smb binaries to 3.0.24 and reduced the log level and my
samba servers now giving throughputs of 32-38 mbps with some spikes beyond
60mbps .
That's way below what John's getting. Anyway, I can at least finish off
this installation as my samba server can match

Yes, the server wasn't changed, there was even no restart of the smbd
and nmbd daemons. Yesterday I've upgraded from 3.0 to most current 3.3,
but without change. Switch and cabling are totally identical.
