Hi all,
I have a doubt trying to set the users' RID since when I join a machine into
the domain through smbldap-useradd, this script queries to my domain what is
the next uid number available (uidpool) and then add +1 to that uid for the
next time. It is ok, the problem is when I want to
Hello all,
I am upgrading some clients on my network to the RHEL 5.5 versions of the
Samba/Winbind packages (samba3x-3.3.8-0.52) and have a few questions
regarding them. I just upgraded my AD domain controller to the 2008
functional level thus requiring an upgrade of the Samba/Winbind clients so
Normally happy OSX (10.6.4) user here. I am accessing a samba share on
my Gentoo linux machine (i know, i know...) which is running

I think gentoo is pretty baller so I wouldn't apologize for using it.
Anyway I would try unmasking samba-3.5.6, I have been using it

I have the same issue. The workaround that worked for me is to remove the
computer from the domain and re-join the domain again. If there is a
permanent fix to this, I would be a happy camper. It's a waste of time to
remove and re-join the domain every time this issue happens.

Hi all,
Arch Linux (a rolling release distro) has updated to python3 a while
back. python2 is still installed in parallel, but part of the

Hi,
Having a very odd problem with a printer that I've had up and running
for over a year now with no previous issues. There have been no
software or hardware updates recently that should have affected it. The
printer is managed via CUPS and its details are loaded from the CUPS
printcap.
I'm dealing with a Linux environment with extensive automounting, that
also has DFS configurations for the Windows clients of various CIFS
systems. I've got CIFS automounting working for various CIFS servers,
which definitely has its uses, but I'd *love* to be able to mount the

Try setting:

I am not exactly can see what you want to do.

Then make a directory

Msdfs root=yes
/some/where ln -s msdfs:server\\share name
