I am setting up a Samba domain member server (on an Active Directory
domain) that will act only as a print server, not an authentication
server. So do I need any ID mapping services running, like winbind? Or
any authentication services like kerberos? I know I will need name
Help.
The environment I work in has Unix LDAP servers AND an Active Directory
domain both using different authentication databases (of course) . I
would like the Samba service to map winbind users/groups to the already
existing UID/GID's in the LDAP server. If this is this possible, can I
on the already
existing Active Directory domain.

I have a samba server 3.0.21b in a windows domain and would like to use it
as a print server for windows clients. Question: since this is a domain
member server, do I need the winbind service to set permissions (ACLs) on
Win Server 2003 groups/users for print queues?
