I thought I saw something that resembled the issue you are having
previously. Apparently, Vista and Windows 7 require an additional profiles

Solaris 8.

packaging section to bundle up the compiled programs for easy
installation/removal.
Now I have just downloaded the source for the latest stable release, 3.0.14
a. Although there is still a Solaris packaging section
