Hi Guys,
Does anybody know that if Samba is able to authenticate the user via both
domain controller and local Samba password file when the Samba is running
under 'Domain' mode??
The test steps:
1. Add some Samba users when the Samba is configured running under 'User'
mode, then the share

When I try to create a new file, I get error 'Unable to create the file 'New

Hi Andrew,
Also the problem only exists when the share is accessed by hostname (not IP
address), the hostname is something like 'smb-share'.
Thanks in advance,

I also know that even 'net rpc join' doesn't work in case the domain is
Win2003, and the computer account already exists in the AD.

Hi,
Can anybody confirm that I must have a user account of the AD who has rights to add a

Say, when I run command kinit [EMAIL PROTECTED], USERNAME must be a user who has
rights to do that.
I got the information above from

What kind of domain are you using? Win2k or Win2003? Mine works for Win2k

I experience the same problems - Accessing share by IP address is OK, while
failed to access the share by the host name.
The only difference is that there are two DCs in the domain.

Another clue is that if I have ONLY ONE domain controller in the domain,
there are NO problems to access the share by the server hostname or IP
address.

Oh, really? My compiler is gcc-2.95.3, isn't new enough to compile Samba

Hi Guys,
I experienced problems with Samba3.0rc4.
1. When I run command wbinfo, follow errors will be seen. It works fine when

A quick question. I want to join my Samba 2.2.4 server as a Member of a

Thanks,
