I'm running Samba 2.2.8a-2 on a RH 9 box as a PDC with both W98 and WXP
clients.
Is there anyway of getting the clients passwords to expire?

I'm using a RH 9 package (samba-2.2.8a-2) from the Samba web site.
Everything is working OK except that samba messages appear both in the
/var/log/messages file and in the /var/log/samba directory.
How can I stop samba messages from apppearing in the /var/log/messages file?

I noticed this error message within some of my users log files;
rpc_server/srv_samr_nt.c:_samr_query_aliasmem(2626) _samr_query_aliasmem:
Not yet implemented.
Why does this mean and what do I need to do to stop this error message from
appearing.
BTW, the users all have XP machines.

I'm upgrading from RH 7.3 to RH 9 and need to know what files need to be
copied from the RH 7.3 box to the RH 9 box?
I'm not upgrading my version of Samba. I'm just upgrading the OS.

I use security = server or security = domain?
A couple of you respond (thank you) and suggested I used security = domain.
I now have another question;
If I have W98 machines on my network will this setting work with such
machines?

I have a Samba server (version 2.2.8) running as a PDC.
I have just setup another Samba server and don't want to setup a smbpasswd
file on this machine.
I simply want all authentication of usernames/passwords to be done on the
PDC.
Do I use security = server or security = domain?
