Samba Version 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 12.04 tbdsam back end.
I discovered a couple of accounts we created before the Domain was
configured was was an account named administrator intended to be the
Smaba Administrator account. In order to change the domain ai ran this
command
# pdbedit -I DOMAINNAME
I have two samba servers running Ubuntu 10.04 Samba Version 3.4.7
One server acts as domain controller and stores user ids in a .tdb
Somehow I've ended up with a duplicate user name.
On the Domain Controller
# pdbedit -w -L|grep debbie
I am using winbind on a member server and the DC is using the tdbsam
Getent passwd lists local users twice once as expected and once with the
MACHINE\user
How can I make it stop?

Is there a way to change this?

I've found at least part of the problem. PAM was not properly
configured. Apparently I had used a configuration for a previous version
of pam which did not work with my setup..

It gets weirder, If I comment out the Force Group Directive on the

Why will on share work with the directive and one won't?
