Good Morning Samba Team,
We’ve been using Samba 3.4.8 and
OpenLdap as an NT domain PDC for a number of years, running on CentOS 5.7 64

meantime I’ve been configuring other systems to use a multimaster OpenLdap

Hi List,
I’ve

Hi All,
If you've using yum and have added ftp.sernet.. to your yum.repos.d
the paths have changed.
The documentation on the Samba site is no longer accurate,I'm hoping someone
will update this once I mention it?
Thanks
Greetings List,
I've got 2 identical Samba Member servers on my

section of the smb.conf is identical.
My config file is below: The difference? One's a 64 bit OS the other is 32 (I
don't think this is the issue). The 32 bit system runs flawlessly,

Work around maybe.
I created a samba user administrator on the system I wanted to access with a
mount command.
Which as it turns out is a little different ,you use a cifs mount in the fstab
with an auth.smb file to specify
username and password.
It seems as thought smbfs is no longer supported a

Good Morning List,
After an upgrade to 3.3.6 on my CentOS 5.3 system I now

I would love to update to the latest version ,nothing would make me
happier in fact.
However each time I've made an attempt to build samba without an RPM I've been
led
down the rabbit hole of dependencies ,so I've "learned" to use the version that

Dear List,
I’ve
got a Samba NT4 domain with multiple samba member servers serving files using
domain security. Current member servers are all running CentOS 4.7 with

I have no issues (except aging) with these systems.
I’m upgrading a major file server with CentOS
Hi List,
During a recent power outage my domain controller froze at the bios
screen.
So for all intents and purposes there was no PDC (nor BDC) for the domain.
When I arrived on scene I restored order and rebooted the PDC,most machines were
not affected,however several NT4 systems as w

Hi List,
I wanted to provide the solution that proved to fix this problem.
On this particular server I observed we had consumed all memory resources and
were using a decent sized swap file.
After installing more RAM the problem & symptoms have disappeared. FINALLY I
have happy users.

I too have user smbldap-tools with good success.
There is a nice little installer package (smbldap-configure)
that simplifies this process a little bit...
you can find a version that may be suitable for use here

Hi Daniel,
A couple quick items to check.
Make sure you have log level set to 2 or less. (unless you are troubleshooting)
Another parameter worth looking into is
