Hi Jerry et al,
I'm using the 3.0.1 release in 'ADS' mode with ~450 print queues and ~150
users (getting migrated right now, will be ~3.000 in the end). In general
everything works fine apart from some smaller driver configuration
problems, the usual stuff. Though I see a lot of errors in the log
Hi Jerry et al,
I'm using the 3.0.1 release on Solaris 9 in security mode ADS. It works
fine in general. But there are some problems with printer drivers. For ex
the HP LJ 4/4M plus driver can not be set to 'A4' from 'letter' in the
printing preferences.
I use 'rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /
Hi Jerry et al,
I recently installed the 3.0.1 release, since then I can not install any

Hi Jerry et al,
I tried the pre3 version and it seemed at the first look that the problems
of setting security properties is solved. Though I was unable to really
test it because the server ran into some different problems which made him
very slow:

Hi again,
thanks I will try that out during this week, I have another one:
I'm mapping everyone to 'nobody' unfortunately the acl's of the temprorary
files are not readable by the user 'lp':
[printsrv4] ~lp/etc # tail -f /tmp/samba_acls.txt
-rw--- 1 nobody nobody111614 Nov 17 15:58 s
Hi Jerry et al,
I'm using SAMBA 3.0.0 on Solaris 9, it looks very cute, unfortunately I
can not set the permissions on the printers (I can as an admin add a
user etc. but all changes are lost after applying):-(
Is this somehow related to the error entries in the log file:
[2003/11/17 14:45:31, 0
Hi Jochen et al,
that worked fine, though if I get it right everyone can now read the
active directory structure (?)
Connecting to the samba machine results still in errors, but that may be
something stupid on my behalf too...
thanks for helping
