I'm experiencing the same/similar problem
the difference being it that ldap-backend users are ok, only
root fails with NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_DB_CORRUPTION
but I also get warnings, not sure if related
WARNING: The idmap backend option is deprecated
WARNING: The idmap uid option is deprecated
hi all
I cannot pinpoint the time when it broke, anyway, I for

but I also get warnings, not sure if related

hi everybody
I posted to rsync mailing list but it's quiet there
maybe here?
just as in the subject
update target when source becomes a link pointing outside of
the tree
command
rsync -rptgoA --safe-links --delete-before --delete-excluded
--exclude something
I was hmm.. hoping I guess that,
hi all
I see samba can push out it's event log in such a form that
winstation can understand it,
how about the opposite way?
can samba controller pull/receive clients eventlog, or is it
outside of its domain?
and then it's for other manage/monitor/log solutions to take
upon this subject.
hi everybody
I'm being trouble by a strange system behavior, it's Win 7
machine script it as simple as one line
reg import Y:\IT\domainLogons\exportRaw.reg
Y: is a net share that is mapped beforehand
it does not get imported
but below works just fine
reg restore

hi everybody
I'm hoping some experts could shed a bit more light on the
subject
I cannot work it out and it's potentially quite a hassle
win xp sp3 client

samba 3.5.10 on rhel 6.1
and one app the the front end to a user, that does not write
anything back to the resure
if I level up the logs
on 3.5 : fetch_share_mode_unlocked: no share_mode record
around (file not open)
on 3.2.7 : is_locked: flavour = WINDOWS_LOCK brl
start=1733591040 len=61440 unlocked for fnum 10659 file
any thoughts?

hello everybody
I've have a silly windows app, java based, that complains
always when sourcing from read-only share
complains like this .. File is in-use by another process ..
now, app does not write anything back to the share thus
share is 'read-only' plus there are some other reasons for
dear all
trivial kind of question for which I do apologize, but it's
sort of puzzling
in a share when a windows client creates something samba
sets it as 755, yet another user can still delete, in this
case a folder
which part of configuration fixes it so it would behave as
expected?
, at file creation time?
many thanks

hi everybody
this happens when a Domain Admin adds a user-permission set
via properties/security in Windows
folder_A was created by a Domain Admin
new permission - Modify - was added over the folder_A to the

user_A created a file_A.txt in folder_A

dear everybody
samba is 3.5.11-79.fc14
is this weird or my logic fails, I was hoping that if a file
has unix 770 then Win clients should be able to write to it
even if parent folder is 750
also if a folder is 770 and a Win client creates a new
folder in it, its unix permissions get set to
700 in order to protect it from
deletion by non-owners
and the smb.conf is pretty basic
what am I missing???

hello everybody
I am hoping someone could share on this, weir to me looking
situation, some thoughts
when a user accesses BDC share from a workstation writes are

but this same user can, tested with smbclient, write locally

and another thing is when smbclient -L PDC

two OSes, two Sambas, same settings, same shared conted and
one Java application, that complains about File is in-use
by another process.
sambas are two different versions,
only other difference is SElinux, 'disabled' and on the box
that causes problems is 'permissive'
I would
I can see I might have not been obvious in my first email,
to rectify obscureness
3.5.6-86.el6_1.4, selinux=disabled = Java app does NOT complain
3.5.11-79.fc14, selinux=permissive = Java COMPLAINS
same configs for both Sambas
