The 'volume' parameter works fine? I would like
change the share name on windows but not works!
The share:
[share]
path = /home/unipost/barcelona/industria9/admision
volume = anothername
writeable = yes
When i try to mount share windows shows the name
share and
Disc, My home, my personal
files etc. than homes
The parameter volume do this but not works

hi, i'm trying to use volume option to overrides
the share name but not works.
my /etc/samba/smb.conf
[...]
[root]
path = /home
volume = anothername
writeable = Yes
browseable = no
[...]
Windows see this share with the root name and
not with anothername

i have installed samba 2.2x PDC+ openldap server and
i have many windows clients (~500 computers).
All works ok but i need automatize some tasks,
for example i need install many programs on windows
clients (new antivirus, new version of ftp client, etc.)
