What smbclient is that?
smbclient --version
Version 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.1

Yes, please do. For 3.2 there considerable work was done to
tune the get/put
with smbclient, ramdisk to ramdisk: The achievable
datarate is constantly about 300mbit/s
As the samba server is not under load i wonder why smbclient is considerably
slower than iperf (why iperf only makes 500mbit/s is another question though).
Any ideas?

uncomment vfs objects = audit, then I can access the share without
any problems.
Can someone take a look at this? It's probably in vfs.c
Thanks

Hello
Is it possible to do a domain logon in Samba with a Windows 2003 Server?
I don't think so but perhaps someone has a solution.
Kind regards

Hello
I find some errors in my logs and have some questions about them:
1. Why are logfiles created based on machinename and on ipaddress? Only
based on machinename has been configured in smb.conf
These messages occur in the logfiles bases on ipaddress (e.g.: log.10.10.10.1)
[2004/03/15
These two bugs exist in 3.0.0, 3.0.1 and in 3.0.2pre1. They do not
exist in 2.2.8.
This bug affects Linux 2.4.21 and 2.6.1 and Solaris 9
After running configure, a (gnu)make -j X no longer works to perform
parallel compiles.
It errors out after smbd/files.c. It looks like the
with all the other windows- and
linux-pcs.
I am using samba version 2.2.5
Does this work in your networks?
What did you do to get it working?

I'm running Samba 3.0.1 on a Linux 2.6.1 kernel and I'm seeing a problem
of the XP client missing an ack, the server having to resend, and then the
process repeats. This _ONLY_ happens when touching files in a
directory, such as clicking on an icon, then clicking on another one
causes this

Could this problem be connected to that or would could I do to change
this?
(starting nmbd did not change anything)
Thanks for the help in advance

I'm glad it works for you :-)
can you give some configuration details of smb.conf?
I have: domain admin group = root ldaptest.
