normally you have to set quota on the os.

Samba itself does not enforce quotas, it's the OS below that
does. On some systems, you can set and view the OS quotas
via the Windows management tools though.

We are using quota on the underlying filesystem (xfs, in our case), and
this works well with samba.
I don't think samba has it's own quota system.

such an option. Quotas are supported by the underlying UFS on solaris
provided you mount the filesystem with the option quota and you set some
