Please let me introduce my problem with Samba 4 configured as PDC with roaming
profiles.
After login to domain in Windows XP all the "desktop.ini" files are visible
everywhere.
To avoid this there was a possible parameter "hide files" or "hide dot files"
in smb.conf, which is not available

security reasons.

I want to hide files with names beginning with "." So I have
added following lines to my smb.conf (2.2.8):
hide dot files = yes
hide files = /.*
veto files = /.*
When user changes options in folder options to show hide files
and folders, he can see all
Did you try:
map hidden (S)
This controls whether DOS style hidden files should
be mapped to the UNIX world execute bit.
Note that this requires the create mask to be set
such that the world execute bit is not masked out
I don't have "show hidden file" chosen from Microsoft.
After I check the "hidden" attribute using Windows, I right-click again and the
"hidden" box is still uncheck !!!

When I want to hide files in on the Windows interface, I right-click the file and
check on the hidden attribute, but the file still appears there. Must I rename the
file with a dot in front in order to hide it? Any alternative to allow the use of
