I am considering marking testprns as deprecated (or just
remove it). It doesn't seem to be that useful anymore. Does
anyone use it on a regular basis and would therefore be distraught
if it were gone in a future 3.0.x release ?
Haven't used it in ages.

I didn't know it existed, and now that I do, I don't think I'd ever use
it.
(For those unfamiliar with it, it merely checks to see if the printer
you specify has a valid entry in /etc/printcap [or another printcap
file]).
