As far as I know you can give users local admin rights using the following
format:

...
domain admin group = user1 user2 @group1 @group2
Does anybody knows about enabling power users rights?

Hi all,
I've set up ssh successfully authenticating with a PDC. So I am using Samba
+ pam_winbind. This is all working very nice. The only 'problem' I have
is a strange error appearing in the winbindd logs every now and then.

Dear community members,
we set up samba-3.0-beta1 on Debian Linux 3.0. This was done
taking the Debian unstable package and recompiling it for Debian stable.
The kernel is 2.4.20 from Debian testing with a patch for the RAID
controller in Dell Poweredge 2600.
The server is running quite fine

AFAIK ping uses a different resolver than samba suite. It works the other
way around that is a NT box is aware of both WINS and DNS name spaces

You can have a guest share on the samba machine, as follows:
[global]
guest account = ftp
security = share
[public]
comment = Public Stuff
path = /some/public/place
guest ok = yes
Just make sure you have a user ftp on the samba server.
