I've attached a copy of the smb.conf file and the debug output of the

Within XP/NT I'm able to get and set the acls with no problem.

under the users.

OK then, if the user can execute the script out of netlogon and the
system is joined to the domain, then I would suggest that you comment
out the the 'login scipt' (note misspelling) in smb.conf and then see if

Not to put too fine a point on the matter (I'm out of ideas, now,
anyway), but did you notice Ed's suggestion of the lower case u: %u?
Samba distinguishes between %U and %u. His solution also blows my
thought about the extra .bat suffix out of the water.

file permissions? Check both the files and the directory they are part
of. If they are what you expect to see, then can you post a sample of
