You have not provided much information, so its very hard to know where to even
start.
Assuming that users are been replicated to the BDC via LDAP slurpd, you may

Yes, I'm using LDAP for a backend. Both the PDC and BDC are using the same LDAP
server, as my test environment only has one installed.
I've verified the the SIDs are the same, and they'll both authenticate the same
users from smbclient.
The only differences between the two smb.conf
All technologies involved I have well tested, just that I have not assembled
them together in this combination before WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SMBFS.

With Samba v3.x and WinXP, if there is a local profile on the users PC
when the user logs on while hooked to a Samba DC, should the PC check
for the DC profiles password prior to checking the local profiles
password? I have a client PC, originally with no local profile, the
user logs in to
I noticed one of my smbd processes for one particular client (IUSR_JUNIPER)
is taking 200MB in memory, far different from all the other smbd processes.
Should I be concerned about a memory leak here? I don't think samba would
be caching any files, so I can't see why it'd use this much memory.
