Just to be sure, will setting 'ldap ssl = off' affect anything other
than the communications between the samba and ldap servers?

Hi there.
I had configured OpenLDAP, NSS and PAM over RedHat 7.3
for Linux authentication, and they work pretty well.
Recently, I downloaded Samba 2.2.7a source code and
configured it for LDAP access (--with-ldapsam). I also
configured it as a domain logon for Win98
authentication and file server.

Just a quick note that I have finalised RPMs of 2.2.7a for Mandrake 8.0,
8.1, 8.2 and 9.0. They are currently available from
http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/samba .
Updates are in the works for 9.0, and RPMs for all releases should go to
the samba mirrors soon, but if you're having problems wi
Hi Thomas,
Your is a common complaint on this list and typically it always seems to
come back to network hardware problems rather than software.
Run ifconfig on your interface and see if there are any errors listed. If
you see none then i strongly recommend you swap the cable, NIC, switch/hub -
How do i setup windows to act as a host for samba to connect to? (Win XP)

There will be new users and computers connected to it. The only thing I changed was

Hi, using LPRNG 3.8.15 and Samba 2.2.5 some reports do not print and are
left in my samba spool dir /var/spool/samba. Most reports print fine. its
very random.
Not much in logs to assist.
