Fellow Samba Folks, I am trying to setup Samba version 2.2.8a. I would like to authenticate the users with their NIS password and not use a smbpasswd file on the Samba Server. I also want to use the encrypt password feature. The clients will be using XP or Win2K os. Is this possible or do

This is a known problem. The developers have only commented that you should use the same container for machines as for people in samba 3.0.x thus far. I have filed this as bug #1292, but thus far there has been no official word on a fix. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1292 Cheers
