Hello,

Hello everybody,
I am receiving lots of daily smbd errors, making it difficult to
administrate the samba server.
Can somebody have a look at the errors and suggest how to get rid of them?

by default, Windows will not allow a password of aa, but it will

Hey,
I'm courious whether you could solve the problem. I tried to set the
sticky bit on the share but still cannot save word/excel files to a
samba share.
There is no acl in my configuration.
Thanks,

Yes it could be solved. The problem was a outdated kernel and glibc
version and the utimensat() call. Samba 3.5.4 needs Linux Kernel minimum
2.6.22.
Which Kernel Version do you run?

It is an Xen Kernel 2.6.18. So if I upgrade to a newer xen kernel the
problem will go?
What is the utimensat() call?
Thanks for the info.

I've been at this for hours now and am still not getting it to work.
I've been through the lists trying to find an answer and so far as I can
tell, everything is configured OK. Obviously it's not, but I'm stuck.
I recently installed Squeeze on my home server, overwriting a Lenny
installation.
DId ya check your samba pam?

Dear All,
I vampired a Samba4 from a Windows 2003 Server AD. My idea was to
transfer all users and groups, then shutdown the Windows 2003 AD and
promote Samba4 as Operations Master. I have been able to do so with the
Infrastructure and Main Domain Controller roles but not with the RID
role.

Hey everyone,
I'm one of those crazy people willing to try setting up Samba4

Samba4 HowTo (which is excellent by the way) and have a domain setup and

That's what i did. After updating the kernel the phenomen has gone.
The utimensat function is quite new and needed for timestamps in nano seconds.
